Principal Geotechnical Engineer (SubSea)
A leading global provider of offshore and subsea analysis, our client specialises in engineering consultancy for offshore energy markets, including wind, oil, and gas. Since its establishment over 20 years, the company has combined traditional engineering with advanced simulation techniques to de-risk offshore projects, supported by a skilled team of engineers, researchers, and software developers. As part of a larger group with a global presence, they are dedicated to delivering sustainable solutions across multiple sectors. We are seeking an experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead geotechnical studies, designs, and reports for subsea structures. You will manage project timelines, budgets, and a team of junior engineers, while also playing a key role in business development. Responsibilities include conducting and reviewing geotechnical analyses, client liaison, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and the company’s Quality and HSE systems. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in offshore geotechnical engineering, with expertise in seabed infrastructure and soil-structure interaction. Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (such as PLAXIS) and mapping tools (like ArcGIS) is essential. You will have a solid understanding of ground investigation and geotechnical processes, as well as experience in offshore design elements such as Cable Burial Risk Assessments and jack-up leg penetration assessments. A degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field is required, along with progression toward chartership. Strong leadership and client management skills are crucial, as well as the ability to train and mentor junior staff.
