About This Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our development team as a Principal Electronics Engineer. This role offers the chance to work on innovative projects, from the initial design phase through to product launch, for a global leader in the industrial technology sector. As a Principal Electronics Engineer, you will play a key role in architecting and designing new products, as well as maintaining and enhancing existing offerings. You will collaborate with local and offshore-based engineers, tackling challenges and driving innovation in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for analysing product requirements, deriving architecture specifications, and transforming these into concrete designs and implementations. If you are a highly qualified, experienced, and driven electronics engineer seeking new challenges, this could be the ideal opportunity for you. What We're Looking For: Strong background in electronics architecture, design, and development. Ability to challenge assumptions and collaborate with other engineers to find superior solutions. Proven ability to identify opportunities for product innovation that will benefit customers. In-depth knowledge of compliance standards and the ability to interpret them effectively. Solid understanding of modern manufacturing techniques for volume production. Experience with full design lifecycles, from initial concept to final product. Extensive experience in electronics product architecture and design, including circuit design, schematic entry, prototyping, circuit simulation, and multilayer PCB layout techniques. Creative and innovative approach to product development, with an awareness of market, customer, and application needs. Detailed knowledge of compliance standards (e.g., EMC, Safety) and the ability to implement them in product design. Desirable Skills & Experience: Significant experience in a new product development environment, with a proven track record of successful deliveries. Strong understanding of embedded microprocessor, analogue, and digital design. Familiarity with ISO9000 or similar quality processes. Experience working within multi-disciplined design teams, possibly split across different geographies. Ability to lead smaller teams of electronics engineers, providing technical guidance. Expertise in design for manufacture and testability. Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) into local or remote manufacturing facilities
