We continue to grow in the North West with appointments to many framework contracts and a diverse, exciting portfolio of clients and projects. We are keen to speak to qualified (or nearing) chartered or incorporated engineers who are passionate about delivering high-quality design solutions for our clients. You will be responsible for the preparation of feasibility studies, designs, scheme drawings and calculations; preparation of contract documents and specifications. The role will also include project planning, management and monitoring, and liaising with clients and contractors. A working knowledge of the DMRB, LTN1/20 and other current design standards is essential and use of design software including Civils 3D and/or MX is desirable. Specific objectives include: Providing a consistent high level technical design service; Providing support, training and guidance to other staff; Effective client liaison and communication; Reporting to the Highways Director; Liaising with other discipline team leaders to ensure technical integration; Financial and commercial management. Experience of working in a highway design office is essential, typically with at least 10 years’ practical design experience. Applicants should be: Self-motivated and enthusiastic; Have proven experience of working with Local Authorities; Capable of operating with minimal supervision; Seeking increasing level of responsibility.
