Working under the mentorship of the Head of Support, you will apply sound engineering judgement to ensure products are developed to be supportable and to develop the support solution and acquire the necessary resources for support. You will act as the ILS Project Lead and take ownership of ILS activities where required. Responsibilities include: Tailoring the scope and scale of ILS activities to meet the User, Customer, and our client's requirements Working collaboratively with designers to improve reliability, maintainability, and usability aspects of designs Providing input to develop the optimum support solution for each customer Completing lifecycle cost analyses, level of repair analyses, sparing analyses, and failure modes and effects analyses Eliciting and deriving support requirements and proposing verification methods Developing supportability cases and conducting analyses to provide progressive assurance of support solutions Performing reliability modelling and maintainability analysis to optimise support arrangements Assessing the human element of systems, including potential for human error contributing to system failures Preparing technical manuals such as troubleshooting guides or operations and maintenance manuals Assisting with hazard identification and mitigation through system hazard analysis Formulating and implementing the obsolescence strategy for a product line Supporting the continuous improvement of processes, policies, and procedures Skills, Qualification, and Experience:
Our client is looking for a dynamic, professional engineer, with experience in a high technology or regulated industry. You should have: A bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical equivalent (navy, army or air force equivalent in mechanical or electrical) or equivalent experience Knowledge and experience in Reliability & Maintainability - Reliability Prediction, RBDs, FTAs, FMECAs, MTAs, FRACAS/DRACAS, etc. Ability to review work produced by domain specialists across: Integrated Logistics Support - LCC, LORA, sparing, obsolescence, etc. Operational Analysis & Whole Life Cost Modelling - Business Case Analysis, Availability Trade-Off Analysis, etc. Training Development, Design and Delivery Security Clearance (SC) or the capability to achieve it A full driving licence (role is office-based with occasional travel across sites and to customer and supplier locations) Experience using PTC Windchill, Isograph, or other modelling software (considered an asset) Personal Attributes:
