An exciting, fixed term contract opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, dynamic Specialist HIV Pharmacist to join us on a fixed term contract at Milton Keynes University Hospital working within Blood Borne Virus (BBV) Clinic which runs the HIV service in Milton Keynes. You will work within the HIV clinical team and alongside the hospital pharmacy team.

Job description Job responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities To practice in compliance with the General Pharmaceutical Council code of professional conduct within scope of practice, being responsible and accountable for own decisions, actions, and omissions. To demonstrate a critical understanding of broadened level of responsibility and autonomy and within the limits of own competence and professional scope of practice, including when working with complexity, risk, uncertainty, and incomplete information.

Education & Training To contribute to the departmental education & training programme. Main duties will include: Participating in the departmental teaching commitments To contribute to the training of pharmacy, medical, nursing staff and other healthcare workers.

Human Resource Management Specialist Pharmacists (band 8a) do not have line management responsibility for any staff. However, all posts with responsibility for managing and supporting staff in operational delivery are expected to lead, motivate, develop and reward staff and are required to comply with the Trust's Policies and Manager's Code of Conduct e.g., in the following areas: To utilise systems of effective communication To observe and comply with the Trust's policies and procedures for Health and Safety ensuring the environment in which you and your team work is safe, clean and tidy.

Person Specification Qualifications and knowledge Essential MPharm Degree (or equivalent) Registered Pharmacist with GPhC Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent) Evidence of CPD (in line with GPhC requirements) Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent)

Desirable Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Independent Prescriber

Experience Essential Experience of Hospital Pharmacy Practice Working as a clinical pharmacist at a high level Clinical experience in an HIV / ID / Sexual Health setting Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide patient care Experience of audit work. Experience of Medicines Information.

Desirable Evidence of broad clinical experience Evidence of influencing medicines use to optimise care and help clinicians manage expenditure Evidence of experience managing prioritisation in relation to the use of new drugs and new uses for drugs
