Principal Process Engineer

with a strong technical foundation and business acumen to support in the growth and expansion of our Newcastle business. Brief Duties Lead and perform Process design on projects in the NSW region. Support the Brisbane and Perth Process teams on studies and projects and check key process deliverables related to your field of expertise (such as design criteria, mass & energy balances, process flow diagrams, equipment sizing calculations, etc). Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, procurement, construction, vendors, consultants, and client teams to deliver projects successfully. Contribute to the review and optimisations of project design, cost, safety, constructability, and schedule. Perform Process optimisation work for brownfields projects. Interface with global equipment suppliers to stay up to date with technological developments. About You Our ideal candidate would be technically savvy, good at expressing themselves, self-motivated, and able to manage their own workload plus that of a small project team, they will possess: Tertiary qualification in mineral processing, chemical engineering or metallurgical engineering with 7+ years’ experience. Previous industry experience within mining and mineral processing, ideally within EPCM. Experience with coal, base metals, rare earth minerals and mineral processing in a design and construct environment. Commissioning, Operations and practical experience - highly beneficial. Innovative thinker with a solution focused approach to problems and the ability to work autonomously to deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft office products, particularly Excel and Word. Proficiency with LIMN, Metsim, SysCAD or similar – highly beneficial. Excellent attitude, team focus and commitment towards safety. Well-developed communication (written and verbal) and organisational skills. Valid rights to work in Australia.
