Job Description:

Principal Product Manager focuses on understanding market priorities, trends, workflows, and growth plans through market research, partnership with sales, client discussions, and industry conference participation – with the purpose of evaluating and creating new market, product, and pricing opportunities that will help drive the product playbook and strategy. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams including other product managers, product development, marketing, sales, and others to drive the execution of the opportunities identified. This position interfaces with third-party partners as needed to enhance company product value proposition, solution adoption, and distribution strategies.

This Principal Product Manager will also work with sales and external partners in presenting our solution offerings and describing the value proposition and benefits they provide to our clients, as well as assisting with account reviews, creation of account plans, and solution planning strategy.

Job Responsibilities:

Establish strategic plans to seek out new market and solution opportunities.

Identify new areas of strategic growth by analyzing market trends and competitive gaps, industry workflows, customer requirements, and market whitespace.

Prepare market presentations in support of business plans and strategy.

Present ROI and financial analysis.

Lead, participate and present solution value to key industry organizations, conferences, and forums.

Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to assess how each impacts the business strategy.

Partner with other senior managers to establish long-term strategic plans and objectives.

Lead new solution market definition and business plans across functions.

Support the definition of the solution strategy and assist with solution roadmap validation – including market validation of planned enhancements.

Work with business unit managers and staff to ensure plans are integrated with broader strategies.

Determine ongoing market opportunities.

Lead solution pricing, solution distribution strategy, and competitive positioning in collaboration with peers in the sales organization.

Provide leadership in strategic planning for the Product Management Team.

Monitor the development of business plans, manage solution lifecycles and product positioning in the marketplace.

Achieve revenue and profitability objectives.

Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, legislators, industry associations, and suppliers.

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, or related field required. Master’s degree in related field preferred.

10+ years related experience in product management within the financial services industry (Mortgage experience is highly preferred).

5+ years of mortgage end-to-end Workflow, specific to Underwriting/Credit lifecycle experience.

Working knowledge of Loan Origination Systems such as Encompass (ICE), Empower (Dark Matter), Mortgage Cadence, etc.

Experience with GSE (Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae) AUS Systems (DU, LP, AIM and D1C frameworks).

Experience gathering requirements, client-validation, and feedback loop using workflow diagrams, wireframes, and quick prototyping tools such as Visio, Figma, etc.

Pragmatic Marketing certification preferred but not required.

Excellent project management, organization, and customer engagement skills.

Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and group communication skills.

Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong communication skills and leadership presence to drive integration, provide influence, and build relationships across all levels of the organization.

Proven ability to understand complex business and technical concepts and to be able to make good judgment decisions when faced with trade-offs.

Demonstrated success of establishing, managing, and maintaining effective working relationships at the senior executive level, internal and external to the organization.

Negotiation skills to influence strategic partnerships requiring coordination across functional lines or influencing senior leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.

Ability to work independently and maintain tight deadlines.

Strong results orientation with demonstrated track record of success; display orientation to profitability.

Experience with project development methodology (i.e., Agile, Waterfall, Extreme).

High degree of adaptability; ability to excel in dynamic, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environment.

Ability to manage and execute within a complex and matrixed organization, assess optimal execution pathways.

Annual Pay Range:

127,100 - 160,000 USD
