Within the role of Principal Engineer - Structural Engineering (Specialist Structures) you'll be responsible for: Undertake technical reviews, verifies and signs engineering designs. Articulate, define and document subject expertise, approaches and standards in order to extend business knowledge base. Provide technical direction to engineers. Support the development of individuals and teams to enhance skills and competencies, such that technical capability objectives are fully achieved. In addition, you'll also define the qualification obligations for the assurance hold points during build, test and commissioning, and providing assurance to the Design Authority as to the adequacy and robustness of the Safety Case and supporting documentation. You

To succeed within the role, you'll have experience in a similar position, and you'll ideally have the following skills: Good understanding of mechanical engineering, structural steelwork, knowledge of lifting handling and LOLER. Working knowledge of ABAQUS (Software), S-Frame Foran, MathCAD and Excel. Expertise in structural steel analysis and design. Experience of timber and concrete design would be beneficial. Competent in undertaking hand analysis and design techniques including report writing. Fully conversant in use of Eurocodes and British Standards. Knowledge and experience of Lloyds Rules, Naval Design and DNV would be advantageous. Background
