Principal Structural Engineer - Structures Team
Are you a motivated and ambitious individual looking to work on development projects that can change communities and improve their built environment?
If so, our client is looking for an experienced engineer to join and help shape their structural engineering team. You will be joining a team of like-minded experts that have a passion for delivering excellent client service and continuously seek innovative ways to enhance their projects and services.
Job Description
You will be responsible for:
The successful technical and commercial execution of project work, including managing personnel and resources. Being technically competent and a good communicator, capable of developing relationships with clients and fellow professionals. Defining and influencing the company culture. Setting the tone for communication and collaboration within the team, fostering good levels of employee engagement, and increasing productivity and efficiency in a positive and supportive environment. Preparing technical outputs to the highest standards in accordance with the client's ISO9001 quality management system. Providing direction and technical advice to more junior project team members, taking responsibility for developing team members to achieve their full potential. Developing effective teamwork within both the client and as part of a wider design team of other key stakeholders. Delivering multi-disciplinary schemes (civil, structural, geo-environmental) and demonstrating strong communication and client management skills. Responsible for the financial performance of projects, maximising efficiency and contributing to the delivery of the client's commercial aims. Identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities, contributing to the preparation of technical and financial proposals and bids.
Qualifications & Experience A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or alternative equivalent practical experience. Near Chartered or Incorporated Engineer, Member of IStructE or ICE or equivalent. Significant experience within an engineering consultancy. Design experience in a range of structural engineering projects including low-rise residential developments. A record of managing, overseeing and providing guidance to more junior members of technical teams, including graduate engineers or technicians. Commercially aware with a client-focused approach to service delivery.
