£55,000 - £65,000 per annum + benefits (Permanent) NOTTINGHAM A Principal level Structural Engineer is required by a consultancy office based in Nottingham. They are part of a bigger group with offices in several locations and work on a wide variety of buildings projects, often large mixed use urban developments. They pride themselves on their interesting and varied workload and their work hard play hard office environment. It is expected that you will be Chartered and able to lead projects and project teams to success. The position is for a dynamic candidate with experience of managing reasonably sized projects and leading design teams. It is essential that you have good communication skills, be proactive, and client facing. You should be able to run projects and be a dynamic candidate keen to progress your career within a forward-thinking practice. Excellent promotional prospects exist within this business. You can expect the following responsibilities: Detailed design and analysis duties on a variety of buildings from the property sector Leading projects and a design team Liaising with and providing direction to more junior members of the design team Communicating with contractors and architects Liaising with clients and answering queries Attending site meetings Gradually taking on more responsibility while working into a position in senior management They need someone who is a natural technical lead, either already working in a Principal role or is ready to move up into one. They have a contemporary approach to their work and a real focus on work/life balance. As such, there is a flexible working policy along with regular staff social events. You will ideally meet the following criteria: A relevant degree in civil or structural engineering Experience with industry standard software such as Tedds and Tekla Excellent communication skills Knowledge of the design process They are essentially looking for a commercially astute problem solver.
