This role is a fundamental part of BMT’s Systems Engineering Capability Leadership, reporting directly to the Head of Capability and leading by example through delivery. A successful individual will be developing the vision for a future state of architectural practice with the Head of Capability and Chief Systems Engineer. This will include: Leading and encouraging thought leadership and innovation as it relates to the domain expertise. Skill development ensuring that all resources have the skills needed to deliver to the expected quality and where necessary identify training. Tooling, ensuring that the right tools are available when required. Team engagement to ensure any vision is shared by the team, championing a positive culture and working environment. The role of professional development, mentoring and training in realizing the vision. Location We have offices in Bath, Bristol, London, and Portsmouth, and we are happy to explore flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Please note that travel to customer sites or to attend meetings will be required, and our customers are primarily based in Bristol. This role is available for part-time or full-time candidates, with hybrid working agreements. About you Ideally, you will have some or all the following: Experience with concept phase projects. Experience with technology development. Experience of leading the development of architectures. Professionally recognized with an appropriate institution e.g. CEng, A/C/ESEP. Confident in a customer-facing/consultation role. Systematic and logical in your approach to problem solving.
