The role As a Principal Systems Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. The role could have you deployed on various projects including complex naval ships, marine infrastructure, ship upgrades and energy. Day-to-day, you'll use your expertise in naval and engineering know-how in asset management, where our teams are trusted to deliver complex and critical programmes on a vast scale. As a preferred maritime trainer, Babcock International has been delivering world-class support for over two decades to the Royal Navy, international navies, and commercial customers both in the UK and overseas. Key Responsibilities: Understanding customer needs and eliciting formal requirements Deriving and managing requirements for systems and sub-systems Defining acceptance methodologies for system and sub-system requirements Managing the Assurance and Acceptance process with our customers and suppliers Providing Systems Engineering guidance to the wider project including various design reviews This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home. Essential Experience: Experience in requirements elicitation and management and/or acceptance of complex systems Experience of using requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS) Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Strong understanding of systems engineering principles Experience of people management Qualifications: Degree level qualification in a STEM subject (Science/Technology/Engineering/Maths) or equivalent experience within Systems Engineering Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
