Join a dynamic team as a Systems/Safety Requirements contractor where you'll play a critical role in managing and substantiating safety requirements for the Dreadnought Combat System. This is an opportunity to provide technical leadership in a cutting-edge field, contributing to safety and system integration within the defence sector.

2 days per fortnight and per month at either Filton, Frimley, Weymouth, Portsmouth, or Broadoak.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage Safety Requirements:

Oversee safety requirements management using IBM Rational DOORS at both Whole Boat and Combat System levels. Analyse and Establish Safety Requirements:

Translate outputs from safety analyses into formalized requirements in line with the Safety Management Plan. Review and Link Requirements:

Assess Level 3 Safety Functional Requirements (3SFRs), Derived Safety Requirements (DSRs), and Local Hazards to Individuals (LHI) safety needs, ensuring alignment with system specifications and technical requirements. Collaborate with Stakeholders:

Work closely with safety subject matter experts, technical authorities, subsystem teams, and suppliers to align on safety requirements and evidence substantiation. Coordinate Shortfall Management:

Address and manage safety evidence shortfalls, facilitating stakeholder meetings to define next steps. Support Documentation and Compliance:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in DOORS, ensuring compliance with the Dreadnought CS Requirements and Acceptance Management Plans.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Proficiency in Requirements Management Tools (e.g., IBM DOORS). Expertise in managing and substantiating safety requirements across multiple system levels. Strong background in Systems Engineering with significant experience in safety-related domains. Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance on requirements management. Excellent collaboration and communication skills, capable of liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
