These roles are primarily based on a level of significant technical expertise or functional specialism. They ensure delivery for a defined area of responsibility, generally within a specific team within a business unit. Individuals will have discretion to operate within their area of expertise and may be required to undertake complex problem solving/analysis. They typically deliver activities as part of a direct or matrix team and support the delivery of professional or thought leadership.

Key responsibilities (deliverables of the day job)

Lead the development and adoption of best practice engineering design standards and procedures Analyse and solve unique, complex and high impact problems Engage with internal and external stakeholders to define requirements and design solutions to meet agreed specifications Define the future state architecture and contribute to the development of architectural strategy and roadmap Plan technical and architecture development and modifications and recommend process, product or service improvements Apply quality assurance processes to ensure that end-to-end technical designs and builds meet technical requirements and standards Identify and control technical risks and issues Provide detailed documented technical solutions and reports for distribution both internally and externally Provide technical expertise and guidance to the bid management process internal stakeholders and customers Provide technical leadership within the team, sharing knowledge and skills and providing mentoring support to engineers and technicians Qualifications

Continually develop expertise in emerging broadcast/media markets (IPTV, VOD, OTT, Interactive etc.)

Suggest and develop strategic developments to the Playout and Media Management products in order to gain new business and improve customer service Where necessary manage relationships with suppliers in implementation of development activities Lead the integration of new technologies and systems into the Workflow/Content/Playout platforms Recognised internally and externally as a source of expertise in media management & playout technologies and systems and the potential solutions they may provide to existing customers and product roadmaps Be an expert in existing and emerging media/metadata formats and standards Investigate operational requirements and problems, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated processes Desired knowledge and experience

Significant knowledge in media management and playout technology Knowledge of IP and IT technologies as they relate to media management and playout Wide knowledge of the broadcast industry, developments and trends Experience of designing and delivering technical implementations Job Requirements Architect, Media
