Principal Technician - Flood Drainage & Infrastructure Design (Residential)
About Us: My client is looking for a Principal Technician. The consultancy is dedicated to delivering high-quality, sustainable engineering solutions for residential developments. They have an expert team specializing in flood management, drainage systems, and infrastructure design to ensure the safety and resilience of communities.
Key Responsibilities: Design & Development:
Assist in the design and implementation of flood drainage solutions, surface water management, and infrastructure for residential developments. Technical Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of junior technicians and engineers, providing technical guidance and support. Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered to the highest standards. Compliance & Standards:
Ensure that designs comply with all relevant legislation, environmental regulations, and industry standards. Problem-Solving:
Conduct site assessments, identify challenges, and provide innovative solutions to complex flood and drainage issues. Software Utilization:
Use of Causeway flow, Infrodrainage, ODS. Reports & Documentation:
Prepare technical reports, calculations, and project documentation for client approvals, regulatory authorities, and internal teams. Essential Qualifications & Experience: Education:
HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Drainage, or related field (degree preferred). Experience:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in flood drainage design, preferably within residential or urban developments. Technical Skills:
Proficient in the use of industry-standard design software (AutoCAD, MicroDrainage, Civil 3D, etc.). Knowledge:
Strong understanding of drainage systems, flood risk assessments, and sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS).
