Location: Amersham, Brighouse, Glasgow, Hartlepool, Sheffield, Warwick Main Duties: To prepare engineering drawings for Rail Projects. Brief and supervise Junior Technicians. Check drawings prepared by others. To assist other staff in managing the design team. To liaise and communicate with external professionals. To represent JNP Group at meetings and in writing. To attend site to carry out measured surveys to gather information to enable the production of drawings suitable for Rail submissions. To comply with the requirements of the JNP Quality Assurance system and other policy documents. Maintain currency with industry standards and advancements in Revit software and BIM methodologies. To maintain their own professional development. Promote our rail sector services both within and external to JNP Group. Preparation of railway submissions in accordance with NR/L2/CIV/003 and the relevant Network Rail Company Standards. Liaise and communicate with clients and external agencies i.e. Network Rail. Represent JNP Group at meetings and in writing when required and attend site to undertake surveys and inspections. Assist in the production of fee proposals where required. Experience in participating in IDC meetings and assisting with responding to and closing out DRN comments is desirable but not essential. Training & Development: You will be encouraged and given opportunities to work towards a Professional Qualification commensurate with your Academic Qualifications, including EngTech registration through the Institution of Civil Engineers or the Institution of Structural Engineers. You will be expected to attend in-house and external training courses, seminars, institution events, and generally comply with the ‘Continuing Professional Development’ requirements of: JNP Group’s QA System – ‘Training Procedures and Guidance Notes’. The training requirements of the professional body to which you are (or become) affiliated. You will be encouraged to advance within the project team and company hierarchy within JNP Group. Advancement will depend on your ability to demonstrate your capabilities and commitment to a career with JNP. Education & Learning Experience: HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction, or related fields. 4-7 years in a relevant field, with a high level of proficiency in AutoCAD (minimum 5 years) and advanced proficiency in Revit (3-5 years). Technical Skills: Conversant with Network Rail Company Standards and Railway Group Standards. Strong knowledge of construction techniques, and software tools such as AutoCAD, and Revit. Knowledge of Navisworks, Manage Recap and Dynamo is advantageous. Good knowledge of typical Rail Infrastructure. Knowledge of Microsoft Office. Good written and verbal communication skills. Able to manage own workload within agreed time scale. Present a professional image to all visitors, external professionals, clients, and staff. PTS & DCCR certification preferred. Training will be given to the right candidate if required. Competencies: Willingness to work occasional weekend and night shifts for the purpose of surveys and inspections. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage own projects and resources within agreed time scales. Have a commercial understanding of fee management. Act professionally in the interests of JNP Group. Flexibility to adapt to diverse project requirements and willingness to support various JNP locations in the UK.
