The Company:
My client, a dynamic Town Planning Consultancy is looking for an experienced Principal Town Planner to join the team based in Cheshire. The client specialises in expert planning advice and services across a range of sectors, with focus on renewables, infrastructure, and strategic developments.
The Position as a Principal Town Planner:
- Lead the planning and delivery of major renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and battery storage schemes.
- Provide expert planning advice to clients, ensuring compliance with local and national planning policies.
- Manage the end-to-end planning process, from initial site appraisals to securing planning consents.
- Engage with stakeholders, including local authorities, communities, and environmental agencies, to drive successful project outcomes.
Essential Criteria for a Principal Town Planner:
- Demonstrable years of experience in town planning, with a strong private sector background.
- Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and policy frameworks relating to renewables.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work autonomously and within a small team.
- RTPI membership (or working towards it) is desirable.
