About the Opportunity:
We are looking to recruit and develop career-minded people to bolster our well-established and growing multi-discipline engineering delivery capability to meet opportunities in the nuclear and defence industries. Our projects include developing solutions through all stages in highly regulated environments, in support of air, land and sea defence establishments, the UK nuclear submarine fleet, and both existing and new build nuclear bases.
You will preferably have experience of working in the maritime, nuclear and/or defence industries, but also those with relevant industrial design experience looking to work in a technically challenging environment.
Main Duties:
- Leading/working with a team of EC&I engineers/designers in developing engineering deliverables throughout various stages of the project.
- Carrying out visual and intrusive inspections analysing data and reporting.
- Prepare drawings, functional and technical specifications, and contract documents.
- Performs calculations and evaluations in the design of equipment and systems for industrial applications.
- Interfaces and co-ordinates with Safety Case and System Engineering teams.
- Participates in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects.
- Maintains effective communication with clients, project team members and project delivery team.
- Responsible for authoring/reviewing/checking on technical deliverables.

Here's What You Need:
- Professionally qualified (e.g. Incorporated/Chartered) Engineer with a degree/HNC in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in HV/LV distribution systems and associated control and protection systems.
- Experience in LV cable sizing and design and using cable sizing software (AMTECH).
- Experience in electrical building services.
- Experience in Fire Alarm and Security systems design.
- Experience in a contracting environment, relevant site experience.
- You must be a UK national and have the ability to obtain SC level security clearance, which includes being in the UK for the preceding 5 years.
- Willing to travel to sites occasionally which will be expensed.
