Process Design Engineer Location: Cookstown Salary: £40,000-£50,000 per annum plus package Type: Full Time - Permanent (Hybrid)

We are seeking an ambitious Process Design Engineer to join an established design team & support the planning & delivery of process design of water and wastewater treatment projects. The ideal candidate will possess a good understanding of water and water processes with a genuine passion for developing innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

Prepare process flow diagrams, mass balance calculations, and unit process sizing to enhance the efficiency of treatment plant operations. Develop P&IDs, process control strategies, and hydraulic design calculations (for both gravity-fed and pumped systems) to support detailed specifications and safety assessments. Act as a key representative in HAZOP sessions and design reviews, collaborating effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders. Produce comprehensive technical documents, including process narratives, analysis reports, and user manuals. Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver compliant solutions. Coordinate with senior engineering professionals and project leads to fulfil project specifications and client expectations. Identify and troubleshoot process inefficiencies, providing actionable recommendations to improve operational outcomes. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of technological advancements and industry innovations in water and wastewater systems.

What we require from you 5 years' experience in process engineering ideally in water or wastewater. Bachelor's degree in chemical/Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related field. Membership of a recognised professional body or working towards CEng status. Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy-efficient technologies in water treatment. Innovative minded professional with fresh ideas.
