Who are we looking for?

We have a newly created opportunity for a Process Engineer at our site in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. In this role, you will be responsible for Scale Up Process taking high performing technology to production, and the market. In addition, you will continuously improve, optimize and troubleshoot existing manufacturing processes, alongside sourcing, specifying and involved with installation of new equipment and machinery. What will you be doing?

Ability to process epoxy and polyurethane compounds, pastes and various liquid chemistries. Manage Scale Up process from R&D, through Scale Up lab to an effective and robust manufacturing process either on site or for Technology transfer to another ESI or toll blend site. Work with R&D to ensure DFMEA is completed and all necessary inputs for start of PFMEA process are prepared. Work with Quality and Manufacturing to ensure manufacturing capability studies are conducted, manufacturing risks are explored, and measures taken to reduce. Develop manufacturing and/or testing processes with focus on safety, quality, and repeatability for New Product Development and Continuous Improvement projects. Work with production team to resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, tooling, equipment, and product design. Develop and teach operating procedures to ensure they are fully effective. Use systems to build capability of operators and blenders. Sourcing, specifying and involved with installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery. Implement innovative ideas to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. Implement process improvements to achieve/exceed company KPI targets. Who are You?

Ideally, you will have: A bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or industrial engineering, or similar related degree or proven relevant experience of working in a process engineer level role. Willingness to participate in practical work in a cross-functional team. Understanding of manufacturing production processes, ideally in a chemical blending environment, with experience of different chemical blending processes. Experience of managing (or significant involvement in) complex and varied projects. Sound knowledge of a wide variety of production equipment with the ability to develop and write processes, both for manual instructions and HMI systems in automated equipment. Strong core project management skills including planning, risk management and stakeholder management. Analytical and problem solving mindset with proficient numeracy, written and verbal skills. Strong understanding of technology to improve services. Strong technical and analytical skills. Understanding of basic finance principles (budgets, ROI, etc). Ongoing commitment to training and continuous personal development. What competencies will you need?
