Job Description: At Leonardo, we have a fantastic new opportunity for a Treatment Process Engineer within the Transmissions Centre of Excellence function. This is an opportunity for you to provide expert technical support and advice on Treatment Processes within a busy and high demanding aerospace manufacturing team. This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract with a potential to be made permanent. Please note this is Job Family Frame level 5. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AS A TREATMENT PROCESS ENGINEER You will experience working in a very structured, busy and technically challenging but friendly environment on the delivery of manufacturing engineering activities in support of a Treatment Processes primarily Copper plate to support the carburising and nitriding masking on a variety of gears ranging from 30mm to 600mm diameter on Helicopter components. Provide technical support and expertise for the Copper plate treatment operations and associated processes through means of providing clear and concise manufacturing instructions, creating and maintaining standard procedures for working such as best practices tools and equipment, process programs, Treatment process data cards, process review, non-conformance reviews and, technique sheets. Utilise existing strategies and develop strategies for improving product quality within the Gear manufacturing area to reduce non-conformance through addressing treatment related issues. Providing focus where needed to provide right first time First Off results and consistent conforming product. Develop knowledge and expertise of tooling requirements for plating and masking operations. Develop, create & implement best practice working environments and working practices for sustained standard practices – ensuring high standards in manufacture are met, implementing drives for inspection rationalisation and process security. Keep up to date with advances and improvements in specific technology through seminars, working parties, other experts and training courses. Develop and deliver improvement action plans and initiatives. Ensure departmental procedures are maintained, and created in support of process improvements sustainability, including but not limited to tooling condition monitoring, manufacturing engineering standard text and process instructions. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Educated to at least HNC or Degree in Engineering discipline and strong technical background and at least five years relevant manufacturing experience. Excellent organizational skills to manage conflicting requirements and multiple projects. Ability to drive change and process improvements activities. Detailed understanding of Electro plating Treatment processes, good understanding of manufacturing and treatment inspection and non-destructive tests. Integrity & professional approach to business needs and objectives, and ability to negotiate a win-win result during conflict. Good understanding working with CATIA (V5), ENOVIA or 3D software.
