We are looking for a Process Safety Advisor, with a focus on policy and compliance for our gas business! You will be responsible for ensuring that process safety risks and compliance issues are consistently and appropriately managed at assets in the UK, Germany and Netherlands, working with colleagues at the assets and also taking a technology-level overview. The role also involves being the Gas technology process safety coordinator, forming part of the process safety domain with colleagues from Central Asset Management, Generation Safety and the Hydro and Biomass technologies.

About The Role Coordination of process safety topics at asset level, ensuring that process safety hazards are identified, risks assessed and control measures implemented - and any improvement actions completed. Oversight of process safety management at technology level - Evaluating processes & system use through gap analyses, audits etc. and recommending improvements. Membership of the process safety domain - Contribute expertise to the development of harmonised processes, ways of working, risk. Process safety representative development - Acting as a role model of the process safety rules to process safety representatives. Contribute to wider Gas technology risk management and governance activities as needed - This could include auditing and Panel of Inquiry activities tasks to support development of thinking on wider compliance and governance. Job Requirements And Experience A Degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate scientific discipline and Corporate membership of a professional scientific or environmental institution or qualifications and experience which could lead to corporate membership at Chartered level. Several years’ experience in process safety management, or related work area. Knowledge of power plant operations. The ability to work with and develop technical documentation and to demonstrate a detailed, conscientious approach to tasks. Demonstrable project management skills - organisation, co-ordination and influencing skills and analysis and problem solving skills. A broad technical understanding, a detailed approach to work and yet the ability to see strategic risk issues.
