Procurement Category Manager Full Time Bristol/Hybrid Join our Rolls-Royce Business as a Procurement Category Manager. In this role, you will lead a team of buyers to develop and implement global strategies, fostering strong relationships to enhance and improve Cost Quality and Delivery across Procurement. Your creative approach will establish sustainable, long term supply chains, providing a competitive edge for Rolls-Royce, our customers, and suppliers. You will create and deploy integrated commodity/category strategies, and associated strategic sourcing and commercial activities, which includes ensuring adequate levels of contractual coverage, mitigation of commercial risk, optimizing commercial advantage, providing security of supply, and acceptable levels of liability. You will manage strategic senior level relationships, creating value and competitive advantage, while coaching and mentoring your team to strengthen sourcing capabilities. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week. What you will be doing? You will lead a team of buyers and will ensure effective management of supplier relationships and strategic direction of partners and suppliers, which includes being accountable for managing issues that require escalation, conflict resolution, driving and improving in-contract supplier performance, and reporting out on KPIs to Procurement. You will: Lead complex negotiations through planning, performing cost analysis by creating total cost of acquisition/product cost lifecycle models, drafting contracts and creating business cases to maximize the value proposition across all major categories. Be responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining relevant integrated commodity/category supplier strategies that have a clear vision and a strategic framework for the designated supply chain(s) which requires understanding of the commodity landscape, associated risks, and ability to conduct long term planning. Manage the identification, assessment, and mitigation of commercial risks within the supply chain to ensure continuity and resilience. Manage & lead a team of buyers to excel in their strategic tasks by fostering skill development and achieving superior outcomes for the business. Who We Are Looking For At Rolls-Royce we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference. To be successful in this role you will need to have: A degree at BA level and/or CIPs qualifications, coupled with experience of working in procurement and proven leadership at this level in a regulated or complex industry. Experience of working in IT, Electronics, Indirect and Direct Procurement is highly desirable. Very good commercial and financial skills demonstrated through a proven track record of successful negotiations at a senior level that show negotiation excellence through the ability to influence, think strategically, and problem solve to deliver business value. Understanding of Total Cost of Acquisition/Product Cost Lifecycles and associated levers/analytics, contract drafting and implementation, and category strategy development. Strong experience in strategic sourcing as well as managing supplier relationships and in-contract supplier management.
