Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum + £5,000 car allowance

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Procurement Manager on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities for the Procurement Manager:

Implement procurement systems and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency. Analyse inventory levels, demand forecasts and consumption patterns to optimize stock levels and reduce warehousing costs. Manage the UK procurement budget within set KPIs. Source and negotiate with potential suppliers, assess their capabilities and evaluate their suitability based on quality, service and value. Manage supplier relationships, including regular meetings, performance evaluations and maintain an active list of contingency suppliers. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement requirements. Continuously evaluate and improve procurement practices, including identifying cost-saving opportunities and process enhancements. Create and communicate a clear sustainability plan for the business, including setting goals and targets, and developing action plans that engage the whole UK team. Collaborate with the Sustainability team, based in Hamburg, and the UK cross-functional teams to identify and explore new ways of creating value for the business and the wider world by reducing environmental footprints, enhancing social impacts and increasing economic benefits. Approve packaging specifications and packaging purchase specifications and complete the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) reports and the Plastic Packaging Tax quarterly report. Manage environmental tools such as M2030, ISO14001, GHG Scope 1, 2 & 3, ECOVardis, WRAP, EUDR.

Skills and Qualifications for the Procurement Manager:

Previously worked as a Procurement Manager, preferably with blue chip training. Experience of building and developing effective working relationships with suppliers. Strong skills in budgeting, cost optimization and negotiation techniques. Work with ISO14001, ECOVADIS and ESG frameworks (Environmental, Social & Governance). Used to reaching, collecting, analysing and presenting information to customers and internal stakeholders. Strong interpersonal and communications skills. A collaborative, strong team player who is a self-starter and is able to work on their own initiative. Experience of delivering Sustainability initiatives and projects. Experience of Coffee Industry or similar hot beverage category. Established contacts within food and grocery procurement. Educated to degree level. Located within easy commute of Dunstable Bedfordshire.
