Procurement Manager - Public Sector South Yorkshire About Our Client Our client is a well-established public sector entity based in South Yorkshire. Job Description As a Procurement Manager, you will: Support the implementation of the Corporate Procurement Strategy, leading and managing the procurement & supply chain department, ensuring efficient and effective operations. Manage procurement activity within an assigned area of spend, providing guidance to stakeholders on the most appropriate procurement strategies. You will advise on complex procurement issues to ensure the service area objectives and corporate outcomes are achieved. Be proactively involved in contract negotiations with suppliers, working with contract managers to take an active role in the contract management lifecycle. Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies and support the maintenance of the contracts register. Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to achieve cost savings and service improvements. Ensure procurement practices align with regulations and ethical standards. Oversee contract management and compliance. Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and develop procurement strategies accordingly. Monitor and report on procurement performance and KPIs. The Successful Applicant A successful Procurement Manager should have: In-depth knowledge of all current procurement compliance for secure public service operation. Knowledge of E-Procurement and E-Purchasing systems. Previous experience of managing spend analysis and contract register to identify opportunities. Experience in providing procurement and contract management advice within the Public Sector. A degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Proven experience in a managerial role within a procurement setting. Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and strategic sourcing. Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to manage supplier relationships. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and use data for decision-making.
