Profile - Procurement Manager

Our client is a leading defence organisation who design/develop and manufacture complex systems for use in the marine and defence sectors globally. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the Procurement Manager shall develop and execute global sourcing strategies for all aspects of procurement, applying strategic and agile thinking to complex issues whilst managing internal and external relationships. Lead and manage a purchasing and logistics team leveraging data-driven insights to optimize spend and maximize value. Oversee the development and introduction of new products ensuring appropriate supplier involvement and ensuring that commercial due diligence is applied. Duties - Procurement Manager

Determine robust sourcing strategies for existing and new products or services in accordance with Life Cycle Management principles. Develop effective commercial partnerships with key strategic suppliers to influence successful achievement and execution of current and future programmes. Ensure all imports and exports fully comply with all relevant legislation and company procedures and continue to reflect any future legislative changes. Drive continuous performance improvement in all areas of supply chain performance, including logistics. Lead and manage the team establishing departmental and personal objectives for team members. Manage the procurement processes for competitive tendering, including supplier selection, pre-qualification, tender evaluation and contract award in accordance with the applicable procurement plan, procedures and governance. Ensure that the procurement function is suitably represented and involved in the development and introduction of new products. Procurement of an assigned group of commodities. Experience/Qualifications - Procurement Manager

HND or Degree qualified in technical and business discipline or equivalent experience. Experience within a purchasing/commercial role at Management level. Evidence of implementing large and suitably complex product/service contracts with appropriate contractual agreements. Candidates who are currently a Head of Procurement, Head of Purchasing, Head of Supply Chain, Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Commercial Manager and Procurement Director could be suitable for this role.
