to join our team at History Hit. As UK’s biggest digital history brand across podcasts, Video on Demand, social media and the web, History Hit has more than 100,000 subscribers to its TV and audio networks. Its podcast network, including Dan Snow’s History Hit, has millions of listens each month. Is this your next opportunity? Working alongside a dedicated team of creatives, producers and editors, the Producer will help carry out projects from pre-production through to delivery. Similarly, they will play a key role in the development and execution of original content for both the SVOD and our Youtube channel. The ideal candidate will be proficient in performing Director responsibilities on set, including conducting interviews with contributors and directing both talent and crew. Furthermore, a solid understanding of the production industry and its processes is essential for the role. HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME Help develop films and formats from pre-production through to delivery. Comfortable shooter with experience shooting similar content at broadcast level. Leading on Director duties when on set i.e. interviewing contributors, directing talent and crew. Lead on edit producing with in house or freelance editors. Identify ad-hoc opportunities. Ability to assist on budgeting productions and planning schedules. Comfortable drafting production paperwork including call sheets, Risk Assessments, Schedules and contracts. Liaising with your own contacts for crewing up as and when needed. Manage a variety of ongoing relationships with both internal and external parties. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED Skills matter, experience is useful, attitude is everything. Experience of Adobe suite including Premiere. Experience with Youtube Studios & understanding of Youtube metrics. Experience using camera kit including Sony A7S and similar. Must have experience in similar roles for broadcast or digital production companies. Experience working with archive and understanding compliance and clearance is also required. Understanding of template building and archiving documentation essential. Comfortable with adobe packages including Premiere. Strong in verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving, sound decision-making skills (especially in limited time) and being able to work in balance both independently and with a team. DESIRED SKILLS While not mandatory, these skills are a plus. Understanding of the heritage and related education sectors. While we will review applications from different sectors, a humanities degree or professional background, particularly in history, is advantageous given subject matter.
