Product Design Manager

Location: Hybrid, WFH and office based in Staffordshire, with travel across the UK and occasional trips to Europe. Salary: £45K-£55K depending on experience, car, 25 days holiday plus BH, laptop, health insurance, phone, pension etc. Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Role Overview Seeking a dynamic and skilled Product / Design Engineer to join my client's team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a key role in the development of new and existing products, ensuring our solutions meet the highest industry standards. The role involves a mix of office-based work and travel to customer sites, including occasional international visits to Europe. They pride themselves on delivering cutting-edge products to customers across the UK and internationally, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities Develop and enhance existing and new products within our food packaging equipment range. Collaborate with customers to understand and meet their specific requirements. Source and establish relationships with UK suppliers. Conduct on-site assessments and provide technical support across the UK and in Italy. Create detailed designs and technical drawings using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, and Inventor. Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, particularly in metalwork fabrication and machining plastics and metals.

Key Skills And Experience Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, and Inventor. FMCG, food & beverage, plastics, packaging backgrounds would be advantageous. Strong understanding of metalwork fabrication and machining plastics and metals. Proven experience in product development and design engineering, ideally in an OEM or manufacturing environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with customers and suppliers effectively. PC literacy, with the ability to use a variety of software tools and systems. Willingness to travel and stay overnight as required.
