TE Connectivity are seeking a self-motivated Intern to join our R&D Product Development Engineering team at the Hastings location in the UK. This 12 month internship will provide hands-on experience in product development within the AD&M (Aerospace, Defence & Marine) and Autosport Connectors Business Units. If successful, you will be working with minimal supervision on product support and design engineering of Harsh Environment connectors, as well as supporting and working with cross-functional teams on new product developments and introductions, and product sustaining activities. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: Support engineering change management activity Part Number management, creation, and revision Environmental Product compliance coding (RoHS / REACH) Project support - coordinating with manufacturing and engineering teams General administration of office / lab using 5S standards Routine product sustaining engineering activities Support of mechanical testing of product prototypes within a Test Laboratory environment 3D printing and support for prototype manufacture Support CAD data management and migration to corporate PDM vault Support with EBOM (Engineering Bill of Materials) creation – Legacy and new parts Support sustainability initiatives to reduce product carbon footprint What your background should look like:

KEY REQUIREMENTS Qualifications: Must have completed 2 years of a relevant Engineering course such as a BA, BS or BEng in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Product Design Engineering, Industrial Design etc. Experience desired: Solidworks or Creo 3D CAD experience preferred Full proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 tools Strong communication and excellent teamworking skills Good attention to detail and time management disciplines WHAT WE OFFER Global opportunities for future career progression and development.
