We are looking for a highly motivated, skilled and experienced Product Engineering Manager with a background in welding and fabrication, with broad experience and detailed knowledge of product manufacture. From our base in Capel Hendre, near Swansea, we design, manufacture and supply our wide and varied product range. Most of our processes are in house; we laser-cut, bend, fabricate, weld, powder coat and paint, along with the assembly and delivery of our products throughout the UK and Worldwide. We also supply components and assemblies on a sub-contract basis, supplying OEMs and steel fabrication companies throughout the UK. Experience/Background

In-depth knowledge and experience in the area of steel fabrication and welding Engineering/Product management and the management of significant projects Held a senior role including the management of Technical Office and Engineering staff Mechanical/structural engineering HNC/HND/degree qualified Management of welding approvals, CE certification and welding coordination Ability to implement manufacturing processes, methods and techniques and work to tight deadlines within a highly responsive SME business A detailed understanding of the production and finishing methods for a galvanised product range desirable but not essential. Role / Responsibilities

Manage and develop all engineering aspects of the company’s product ranges through the manufacturing and finishing processes

Production drawings Support information such as work instructions and training documents Jigging methods, the production of jigs and jig control Management of welder qualifications, welding procedures and NDT Quality Management Procedures relevant to manufacturing and finishing methods Process improvement and cost reduction Add to the overall pool of Engineering Management expertise Development of Production Engineering processes and see these through to successful implementation Lead product engineering projects Carry out specific hands-on functions to do with the support and development of Altron’s product ranges, and develop controls and processes to enable these to be delegated as the business progresses
