Provide technical compliance guidance and support around tax legislation and calculations (such as legislative budget changes), for the Xero Tax engineering team to ensure they are aware of upcoming changes Build strong relationships with the broader product function’s teams, collaborating effectively with your internal stakeholders Participate in developing a strategy for the product line, including securing funding and resourcing Take an active role in the annual and quarterly OKR process, with support from product leadership Develop product roadmaps to execute on the product strategy, and can manage a product to its roadmap Use customer data and insights particularly in assessing value and viability risks, to inform product roadmap and planning Define the scope of the customer problem and frame possible solutions to test, validate and refine with the support from relevant team members What you'll bring with you
Experience with agile processes in a software development environment, to define user stories and acceptance criteria and manage the backlog of work (2+ years product management experience is a minimum requirement) A background in tax and accounting and/or tax/accounting knowledge, with understanding of UK statutory reporting and tax legislation Any of the following qualifications (or equivalent if not listed), would be beneficial but not compulsory: ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), ACA (Association of the Institute of Chartered Accountants), AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians), CTA (Chartered Tax Adviser) or ATT (Association of Taxation Technicians) and have knowledge of the UK tax system Demonstrated experience collaborating with diverse stakeholder groups to realise customer / commercial outcomes Experience defining product roadmaps and long term planning Able to disseminate information into clear and concise requirements to support product development Understanding of the SaaS / Fintech / Accounting industry and / or adjacent sectors relevant to Xero Why Xero?
