Product Owner – Pharmaceutical Software

·
Full time
Category:
Location: Manchester

SR2 is partnering with an exciting client of ours that develops cutting-edge software solutions to manage clinical trials for new medicines and drugs. They are made up of some of the nicest people and their products help reduce risks, speed up time to market, and improve overall outcomes for clinical trials—a vital contribution to healthcare. As they continue to grow, they are now looking for an experienced Product Owner to join their fully remote UK-based team.

About the Company:

With a team of around 70, including a tech team of 30, the company has experienced rapid growth over the last few years. They are at a pivotal point in their journey, investing heavily in technology and expanding their teams to support the booming sector of clinical trials. Their mission is to develop software that improves risk management, data analysis, and speeds up the approval process for new medicines.

As a Product Owner, you’ll be joining a skilled tech team made up of Developers, QA Engineers, DevOps, and other Product Owners, all working in an Agile environment. They have recently hired a Scrum Master to strengthen their Agile processes and are committed to further improvements as they scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work Across Projects: You will manage the backlog and drive improvements for their core clinical systems, as well as potentially get involved in a project involving API data lakes and data warehouses initially

  • Own the Product Vision: You’ll ensure that clinical industry knowledge and best practices are always at the forefront of development and your insight will ensure the platform stays ahead in managing the complexities of clinical trial data.

  • Collaborate with Teams: You’ll work closely with a fairly new development team, providing them with guidance, transferring knowledge, and offering empathetic support as they grow. This role requires someone who can communicate, visualise ideas, and bring user stories to life in a way that connects with both technical and non-technical team members.

  • Strategic Input: They are looking for someone who doesn’t just take requirements and run with them but someone who thinks critically and creatively, and can offer fresh ideas and solutions. They love improving what they do and love to hear new ideas and suggestions.

What They’re Looking For:

  • Experience in the Clinical or Pharmaceutical Space: Ideally, you’ve worked as a Product Owner in the clinical, pharmaceutical, or health tech sectors. You understand the challenges and intricacies of clinical data management.
  • Agile Expertise: You have hands-on experience working in an Agile environment, and you’re comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA, and DevOps.
  • Empathetic Leadership: Beyond technical expertise, they need someone who is a great communicator, can support the development team, and helps foster a collaborative culture.
  • Creative Problem-Solver: They value someone who can think critically and offer innovative solutions to drive the product forward.

Why Join?

They are offering a salary of up to £70,000 along with a great working culture and benefits. This is a brilliant time to join the company as they continue their rapid expansion and heavy investment in technology. You’ll have the flexibility to work remotely, with occasional fully-funded team meet-ups, and the chance to play a key role in shaping the future of a product that’s transforming the clinical trials landscape.

If you’re an experienced Product Owner with a background in clinical or pharmaceutical data, and you’re passionate about using technology to drive change in healthcare, we’d love to hear from you!
