We're looking for a Product Quality Engineer to be part of our specialised team responsible for product evaluation, ensuring our own label major domestic appliance product range, one of the largest in our business, meets all regulatory compliances and is safe. You'll influence the design, maintaining a high quality which will reduce call centre activity, increase first time fix rates, and reduce service costs. You’ll work closely with our European suppliers, our Hong Kong office, and other parts of our incredible business. Role overview:

Product Evaluation Evaluating respective product categories (Major Domestic Appliances) and advising the Commercial Team as to their suitability for sale. Compliance by documentation checking and product testing. Constant monitoring of product quality, involving pre-shipment inspection review, investigation of customer returns, and repair service data. Product Safety Conducting safety investigations for selected products, ensuring all follow-up actions are clearly assigned and actioned in a timely manner. Working closely with our HK office to provide technical guidance. Assisting in the update of the Product Safety database of reported incidents. Regularly monitoring European & UK standards for relevant updates that may affect our business. Legislation & Standards Regularly monitoring European & UK standards for relevant updates that may affect our business. Updating the management team on relevant updates. You will need: Experience in product development, safety requirements, and quality management procedures. Good understanding of current and developing technologies. Experience to degree level or equivalent or possesses relevant technical qualifications. Ability to assess technical risk and formulate an effective risk management strategy for both development and manufacturers/suppliers. Full valid UK driving licence and passport.
