Product Service Engineer / Large Vehicle Maintenance Engineer Product Service Engineer required for a long term contract near Leicester (Min 12-18 Months, likely to become ongoing though). Would also fit Plant Maintenance Specialist or similar. Around 15 mins Junc 21a M1. £30 ph FCSA Umbrella (Role is deemed inside IR35). c. £22.00 paye. Job Summary: The Product Service Engineer is expected to function as a specialist with respect to a specific technical phase of the Maintenance Planning & Maintenance Product Support within our Assembly Shop & Final Built Assembly products. Responsibilities: Work assignments may be specialised in nature but may also be broad based with coordination between other staff personnel to complete a larger project. Prepares studies for appropriateness and cost effectiveness and submits recommendations accordingly. Results contribute to the effective management decisions in determining the most efficient processes, methods, machinery, tools, equipment, services and systems needed in the maintenance of product. Actual Work Assignments May Include: Preferred degree level qualification or equivalent work experience. Experience in general construction machine product support, service and maintenance repair processes & methods, or construction product service engineering, such as dealer repair processes & methods. Good knowledge of general construction products or off highway machine products and/or product applications. Strong mechanical aptitude, product and systems knowledge, and a robust background in construction machine product engineering, along with general engineering or technical experience with construction or building construction equipment. Experience in technical writing; clear and concise writing is crucial. You need to be able to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms and use software or office tools. Skilled at editing and proofreading, with attention to detail to ensure materials are free of errors and easy to understand. Good communication skills and ability in taking on direction or work instructions effectively, with ability to understand context, end goals, time constraints, accountability, and escalate roadblocks or issues. Essential Skills: – Strong background in construction or agricultural machines, large vehicles or similar large low volume, high value plant or machinery. – Understand requirements and have an appreciation from the customer side of how things could be effectively maintained. – Previous experience within Maintenance scheduling exercises of automotive systems, machinery & vehicles. – Technical literature authoring and ability to write technical manuals and documents would be highly beneficial. – Strong stakeholder & customer facing management experience & able to demonstrate previous project of doing this. – Demonstrable maintenance improvements on processes & process optimisation. Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to Maintenance quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, etc. in performing assigned duties.
