Scope of Role:
To build mechanical and/or electrical assemblies to technical drawings, SOPs, and CMMs. To upgrade and repair mechanical and/or electrical assemblies. To test assembled product. Main Duties/Responsibilities:
Mechanical assembly work to drawing and/or CMMs. Electro/mechanical work, fan/motors and/or heaters to drawing and/or CMMs. Use basic hand tools and measuring equipment, such as torque drivers, crimping tools, micrometers, and verniers. Soldering of small components. Carry out mechanical and electrical tests as defined in the process control documents, e.g., Flash, resistance, and inductance. Adhere to all company manufacturing procedures. Complete all relevant documentation. Provide information or help to customers, suppliers, and visitors from other companies within our group who may tour the factory floors. Participate in Continuous Improvement and 5S activities that affect the quality or output of the product. Use PPE (personal protective equipment) as provided. Carry out activities in a timely manner to ensure company manufacturing targets are achieved. Take on ad hoc duties, including training colleagues in line with the local skills matrix and brief secondment to other departments. Other Responsibilities/Non-essential Functions:
Undertake training identified as a requirement of the role. Undertake other reasonable requests made by the role manager or Directors. Provide support outside of normal tasks to ensure customer satisfaction during reduced department staff attendance. Professional Knowledge & Experience: Able to read and understand drawings, CMMs, and SOPs. Able to work from SOPs in tandem with drawings. Able to read, write, and understand English. Knowledge of tools, e.g., circlip pliers, pliers, screwdrivers, tweezers, scrapers, Swiss files. Soldering skills on small components. Skills in the use of machines, lathes, drills, etc. Brazing is desirable. Previous experience in a production environment, assembly of a wide range of electro/mechanical products. Experience in assembling small components, e.g., model kits or other small component assembly. Ability to work in a team. Methodical and logical approach. Good time management. Able to communicate at all levels. Team player. Self-motivated. Professional. Handles pressure well.
