Then come and join Taylor & Francis Group - a leading academic publisher - within our Books Production Editorial department, where we are recruiting for a Production Editor to project manage books production across the Routledge and Taylor & Francis imprints!
As a Production Editor, you will oversee the production of new titles from receipt of the author’s un-copyedited typescript through to delivery of the final product, ensuring new books meet our quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Commissioning suppliers, preparing material for suppliers, managing relationships with, and feeding back to, suppliers
Handling incoming queries from authors and editors
Maintaining up-to-date information on our database
Quality control of final content
Controlling schedules
Controlling budgets, and assessing and coding invoices for prompt supplier payment
Completing multiple tasks to deadlines within a process-driven environment
Please note that full training will be provided.
Minimum Requirements:
Accustomed to prioritising and working to deadlines, organised, and able to multi-task
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify errors
Understanding the importance of maintaining information relied on by others, ideally through experience of using a database
Ability to manage expectations to deliver to everyone's satisfaction
Problem-solving skills
Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
Ability to build rapport with people and offer first-class customer service as well as being very process-driven
Adaptability to change and not daunted by changing priorities
Basic skills in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Reader, with an aptitude and enthusiasm for working with new technology
Ideally have experience of working within budgets (but this is not essential)
Ideally have a basic understanding of the publishing process from typescript submission to final content (but this is not essential)

Location:
The successful candidate will be able to utilise our balanced working model. We ask that candidates live within a commutable distance of our office in Milton Park, Oxfordshire. Time spent in the office is likely to range from 10%-80% of working hours with an expectation for a minimum of 2 days per week spent working from an office.
