Production Engineer Intern , you will join our busy workshop in Falmouth on a
12 month placement. You will work closely with a wide range of teams, including design, procurement, workshops, subcontract manufacturers, and suppliers, ensuring production activities are completed in a timely manner. This opportunity will provide real-world experience within a busy manufacturing environment and is ideally suited to a student looking for hands-on experience. Our Falmouth Hub is one of the world’s leaders in design and manufacture, producing a range of equipment used by Fugro globally, from small remedial works to ladders and walkways, to complete larger and more innovative technologies such as 3m diameter, 250-tonne subsea drills. It is imperative for this role to have a keen interest in manufacturing and the processes around engineering. You need to have a keen eye for detail, reading and interpreting technical drawings and advising on amendments if necessary. The role will require the Production Engineer to actively engage and liaise with internal and external clients on technical and commercial issues. As the Production Engineer Intern, you will learn to build and establish a robust supplier network through assisting the Production Manager. A high level of communication skills is needed for this role, as you will be liaising with external and internal stakeholders. Part of this role will be to establish priorities in workflow and liaise with workshop and technical staff to ensure they have a clear and concise understanding of the jobs. The ability to prioritize workload is imperative, as you will be required to support several projects at one time. Organization is key, from raising purchase requests, workshop travelers, and work packs. You will be learning to record data electronically, file correct material documentation, and work with the workshop department to compile QC packs for internal and external clients. The role will offer a wide variety of new skills and knowledge, with the support of the Production Manager.
