About the Role

In this position, you will be instrumental in ensuring products are manufactured and assembled to the highest standards. You will focus on designing tooling, optimising work flows, and eliminating waste, all while supporting production speed and efficiency. This is an opportunity to drive continuous improvement and mentor other engineers in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

You will: Design and control manufacturing methods, including PFMEA, to produce products efficiently and cost-effectively. Develop and specify tooling requirements to meet customer and operational needs. Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes through research and collaboration with vendors and operators. Utilise ERP systems to define all aspects of production, from material requirements to dispatch. Optimise manufacturing work flows, space utilisation, and equipment layouts. Support the reduction of engineering lead times and time to market. Mentor less experienced production engineers, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration. Ensure product quality by designing testing methods and establishing standards. Provide data-driven insights for production planning and decision-making.

Skills and Experience Required

Degree/Advanced/Higher Apprenticeship in Engineering. At least 5 years of experience in a Production Engineer role within a manufacturing setting. Expertise in manufacturing methods for machining, welding, and assembly. Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications. Solid skills in Microsoft Office and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks). Strong organisational skills, decision-making capabilities, and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Skills

Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., CAMWorks). CNC programming (online and offline). Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards. Familiarity with Epicor ERP systems.
