We seek a highly motivated and experienced Production Manager to lead our client's small team in Ayrshire. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive operational efficiency, ensure product quality, and contribute to the overall success of the organization.


Reporting to the Operations Director, you shall lead a team of around 20 professionals and be charged with the effective and efficient delivery of products for use across the business. Whilst the role is wide and varied, some of the key responsibilities include:


  • Operational Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the mixing room, ensuring timely and accurate production.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on mixtures to meet stringent standards and maintain consistency.
  • Inventory Management: Manage raw material inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and efficient utilization.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of mixing room operators, providing guidance and support.
  • Process Improvement: Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to GMP, H&S standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate records, including production reports and batch records.
  • Project Support: Support the scale-up of new product formulations and the development of new processes and procedures.



It is expected that you shall hold a degree (ideally in either Chemical Engineering or a related field), have at least 4 years of managerial experience within an industrial process environment, and have worked in a GMP-driven business. You will also have demonstrable experience of;


  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of chemical properties, compositions, processes, and transformations.
  • Experience with SAP B1 and Microsoft Office Suite would be advantageous.
