Overview Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Production Manager will oversee the manufacturing operations at the Sedgefield and Durham sites. Leading a team of Shift Operators and Technicians across two sites, the Production Manager is responsible for ensuring productivity targets are achieved, quality standards are maintained, and that all operational activities are performed in a safe and efficient manner. Key tasks

People management, development and leadership: Provide inclusive leadership and management to a team of Shift Operators and Technicians to ensure production and quality targets are met or exceeded. Ensure departmental training is effective and up to date, ensuring team members have the correct skills to be successful in their roles. Set and manage performance goals, provide feedback, identify development needs and support ongoing development through training and coaching. Own and maintain departmental training and competency matrices. Ensure the team is kept up to date by providing clarity and clear communications around business and departmental changes. Production and quality: Oversee the manufacturing processes, coordinating production activities to achieve smooth running of production lines and quality of output. Ensure orders are produced safely, cost-effectively and on time and to the required quality standards. Plan and execute daily production schedules, adjusting where required and communicating problems, obstacles and opportunities to senior management where appropriate. Own and manage a shift rota, ensuring the correct level of cover at all times, in line with a variety of shift patterns. Organise workflows, set priorities and balance available equipment and people resource to achieve production targets. Collate and analyse productivity data, take appropriate action where required and see this through to an end result. Monitor and report on production rates and key manufacturing KPI’s to the Operations leadership team. Lead and contribute to continuous improvement activities to find opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs across manufacturing. Environment, Health and Safety: Act as a role model for health and safety best practice. Maintain and help to create a safe, organised workplace environment where all health and safety guidelines are always followed, and concerns are raised and addressed appropriately. Ensure manufacturing processes and ways of working continue to meet health and safety regulations and best practice. Qualifications and training

Technical qualification in a relevant or engineering subject, or proven equivalent experience. Continuous Improvement qualification or training. People Management training. Skills and experience

Proven production management experience, ideally from within the semiconductor industry. (Though this is not essential). People leadership capability with excellent organisational and leadership skills. Firm understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations in manufacturing. Experienced in the management and reporting of key production metrics. Strong decision-making skills and employs a results-driven approach. Strong IT and technical skills.
