Production Manager Annual Salary: Up to £55,000 Location: Heanor (Derbyshire) Job Type: Permanent & Full-time We are seeking a visionary Production Manager to lead an established engineering manufacturing department. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role is crucial for ensuring production processes are safe, efficient, progressive, delivering high-quality products consistently. If you are a strategic thinker with a passion for technology and continuous improvement, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Day-to-day of the role: Manage the daily operations of the factory and shop floor personnel, ensuring all activities adhere to safety standards and quality regulations. Oversee the production process from start to finish, ensuring products are manufactured on time and meet quality standards. Collaborate with Design and Sales departments to ensure seamless functionality and timely delivery of products. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the factory, individual team members, and suppliers, taking corrective actions as necessary. Manage inventory levels, ensuring efficient usage and minimal wastage. Negotiate supply agreements to ensure best value and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Implement and oversee training programs to enhance staff skills and performance. Maintain rigorous health and safety standards across all operations, conducting regular audits and training. Attend and contribute to quarterly Quality and Regulatory Management (QRM) meetings. Oversee the maintenance of buildings, plant, and machinery, ensuring all assets are in top condition. Plan and manage capital investments in line with the fiscal budget. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven leadership experience in managing a manufacturing facility within a highly regulated industry. Strategic mindset with excellent operational leadership and decision-making skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and leading teams. Strong multitasking and organisational abilities. Robust performance management skills. Proficient in problem-solving, with a logical and rational approach. Detail-oriented with a diligent approach to all tasks. Proficiency in computer applications relevant to manufacturing management.
