Main Areas of Responsibility
Working closely with the Production and Engineering Director to ensure production targets and factory standards are met Ensuring daily/weekly efficiencies are met Minimising the production of quarantine, implementing improvement initiatives Involvement in sampling on IS Machines Problem solving on IS Machines on a day to day basis Liaising with the Hot End Change Team Ensure the supervisory team follows all procedures related to machine operating and factory safety procedures Participating in jobs on/jobs off meetings Heavy involvement in the 4-week plan – liaising with Production and Engineering Director, Planner, Cold End Manager and Engineering Manager Chairing daily production meetings Daily meetings with Shift Manager and Cold End Foreman Producing weekly summary of production Managing cost centres for the Hot End Liaising with the Purchasing Department Managing overtime Managing Hot End recruitment with individual line manager Participation with any internal re-structures Involvement with Health & Safety e.g. updating risk assessments; manual handling; updating JSI’s; accident investigations; recommending improvements Liaise with on-site contractors Monitor Shift Production Supervisor’s Process Control Sheets Monitor absenteeism in the Hot End, including any disciplinaries and grievances Updating on any issues with production e.g. glass faults Monitor and log bottle faults daily Logging of job specifications Process improvement – identifying areas for quality and quantity improvements Producing a monthly report Identifying cost savings within the Hot End Investigate reasons why we have not achieved the standard issued in the plan Any other reasonable duties as requested within skill set Person Specification
Excellent Communication skills at all levels Manufacturing experience Process Control experience PC literate Glass manufacturing experience (Essential)
