£50,000 - £60,000 Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to oversee operations in our CNC Machine Shop. This role is critical in ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving continuous improvement within a fast-paced precision engineering environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in CNC machining, team leadership, and production planning. Key Responsibilities:

Production Management: Oversee day-to-day operations in the CNC Machine Shop, ensuring production schedules are met on time and within budget. Plan and allocate resources effectively, balancing workloads and prioritising tasks to meet customer demands. Ensure optimal utilisation of machines, materials, and manpower. Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop the production team, including Production Engineers, CNC machinists, operators, and support staff. Conduct regular performance reviews, set objectives, and provide training to enhance skills and productivity. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Quality Assurance: Ensure all products meet strict quality standards and customer specifications. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to address non-conformances and implement corrective actions. Health & Safety: Maintain a safe and compliant working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Promote best practices and regularly review risk assessments and safety protocols. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase profitability. Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and drive Six Sigma initiatives within the production environment. Production Planning: Develop and maintain production schedules, monitoring progress and adjusting plans to meet deadlines. Collaborate with other departments, such as Sales, Engineering, and Procurement, to ensure smooth operations and communication. Reporting & Communication: Provide regular updates to senior management on production performance, key metrics, and improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate records of production activities, ensuring transparency and traceability. Key Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in a managerial role within a CNC Machine Shop or precision engineering environment. Strong technical knowledge of CNC machining processes, materials, and tooling. Proficiency in production planning and scheduling. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a manufacturing setting. Experience with ERP/MRP systems and MS Office applications. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
