The key activities outlined below represent an overview only of the position of Production Manager, based on site at the Telford Plant and should not be seen as a prescriptive list of activities. Strong leadership skills are vital, together with initiative in identifying and focusing on continuous improvement, operational excellence, growth, profitability and technical leadership. Key tasks will include inspiring, leading and motivating a large and diverse team of people across production, and to continue with the implementation of our operational excellence strategy. Strong planning, analytical and forecasting skills are needed to ensure excellent service delivery to a demanding customer base. The successful candidate must have a strong track record of achievement in a fast-moving manufacturing / production / operations related environment and be both financially and commercially astute. Specific Responsibilities

Leading, managing, developing and motivating managers, supervisors and employees, ensuring a positive and engaged team. Developing and owning the operational strategic plan in line with overall company strategy. Supporting investment requirements (capex) in line with market indications. Responsible for ensuring production targets are met in line with customer demands. Focus on efficiency improvements and multi skilling to maximise TOC and AtD (adherence to dispatch) performance. Management of complex "Primary Operations" manufacturing environment, including metal forming, rolling, machining and thermal processing of precision engineered parts. Management of Maintenance activities (Primary Ops, Secondary Ops, Test Lab), ensuring that machine downtime is kept to a minimum via effective preventative maintenance, and in the event of breakdowns, critical machines are given priority. Management of Facilities activities, setting priorities, controlling costs, ensuring work is completed against plan. Responsible for all aspects of environmental, health and safety, including the completion of up to date and valid risk assessments and ASATs in areas under their responsibility. Customer focused approach, ensuring that any customer related problems are effectively responded to, and root cause analysis is completed using the 8D process, ensuring that long term effective solutions are put in place. Ensuring operational targets and KPI's are achieved to include productivity, staff absence, on time delivery, quality, EHS, and Employee Engagement, through effective planning, monitoring and review. Introducing and executing productivity and efficiency improvements whilst constantly improving service and quality performance. Lead the team in developing strong processes to improve productivity (eg CIP, DVP) and performance (eg TOC, AtD). Proactively develop the Shift Supervisors and Team Leaders technical and operational knowledge. Positively coach and performance manage the team to support their personal development, engagement and organisational performance. Develop, document and deliver robust training procedures to promote speed of learning and consistency. Proactively encourages communication and collaboration between departments. Communicating, implementing and maintaining company policy and procedures. Company Responsibilities

Natural leader with the ability effectively lead, coach and engage people at all levels within the organisation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Professional approach with the ability to network and develop effective working relationships at all levels. Strong business acumen and commercial awareness. Can do attitude, with a determined and positive outlook. Calm and methodical, with the ability to make decisions. Logical approach to analyzing and resolving problems. Approachable but assertive. Able to think laterally and is open to new ideas and change. Strong strategic planning and organizational abilities. IT Literate - MS Office. A bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Manufacturing/Technical discipline or equivalent industry knowledge/experience of technical manufacturing environment.
