AD1510 Our Commitment to EDI Our core commitment to diversity, inclusion, and a sustainable future truly values the diversity of our students and staff, creating an inclusive environment where everyone’s identities and talents are valued and respected. We welcome applications from all areas of the community and particularly encourage applications from people from ethnic minority backgrounds and people who are disabled, who are currently underrepresented in our workforce. About the Role The Production Officer (Live Performance and Events) provides high quality and specialist stage management services to the University’s theatre productions, as well as providing support to a broad range of teaching and practical activities. With proven experience in one or more stage management disciplines, the successful candidate will have a good and up-to-date working knowledge of theatre production processes within the live performance sector. Providing specialist support to students and staff, you will support the planning, logistics, and practical delivery of theatrical productions, and will also contribute to the planning and delivery of a wide variety of projects including live events and exhibitions. Previous experience of working in an educational institution would be advantageous, while an understanding and appreciation of workplace health, safety, and welfare, and the ability to work as a member of a team and independently using your own initiative are essential. Key Duties: Supporting the effective planning, management, and delivery of theatrical productions. Liaising with all collaborative departments and providing an effective line of communication between rehearsal activities and wider production teams. Delivering stage management and health and safety workshops and demonstrations to groups of students on new and existing equipment, resources, processes, and techniques. Providing production and stage management support to activities across the Live Performance and Events team. Contributing to the maintenance of equipment and resources. Supervising health, safety, and welfare concerns across the rehearsal process. Contributing to the production of relevant documentation. Providing effective and reactive support throughout the working day, often across the wider university community supporting collaborative activities and projects. You will need to be flexible in your approach to the working day and environment as this varied post supports a diverse range of individuals and projects and will entail evening and weekend working. Regular travel and transportation of resources to various university sites and external venues and locations will be required, for which a full UK driving licence is essential. You must possess a minimum GCSE grade C/4, or equivalent, in English and Maths, and a level 3 qualification in a relevant subject. You will also have either a relevant degree qualification or significant professional experience in an appropriate field. In meeting your performance expectations, each year you’ll have a salary increase in line with the grade of your role. As well as this, there is an annual cost of living increase. AUB provides generous holiday entitlement, and you will be enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme (professional services staff) or the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (academic staff) from day one of employment. Along with subsidised bus travel, cycle to work and annual savings schemes, our broad range of benefits can be explored on the AUB careers website
