Production Planner


We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Planner to join a dynamic team in the food manufacturing industry, specifically dealing with short-shelf-life products. This role is crucial for supporting business objectives by effectively planning and scheduling production to meet customer demand in the most cost-efficient way. Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning & Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed production plans, balancing customer demand with capacity and inventory targets, particularly for short shelf-life products.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to maintain an optimal balance between meeting customer needs and minimizing waste.
  • Performance Analysis: Regularly review and analyze production performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality control, logistics, sales, and NPD to ensure alignment across departments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing operational effectiveness.
  • KPIs: Support and drive departmental KPIs, continually striving to improve targets and standards.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English, with two A Levels preferred.
  • Strong understanding of planning fundamentals, with experience in a short shelf-life food manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficient in Planning/WMS and inventory control systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
