Job Purpose Responsible for developing and managing production schedules to ensure the efficient overhaul of engines, transmissions, and Power Packs for passenger rail customers. This role involves coordinating with multiple departments to optimize workflow, ensure timely delivery, and maintain high-quality standards. Key Responsibilities & Activities Responsible for ensuring your own health and safety and that of others and promoting a positive health and safety culture within the workplace. Ensure all health and safety obligations are met, and company policies are adhered to. Report any safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents, and incidents by the end of that shift to allow full investigation and prevent re-occurrence. Develop and maintain detailed production schedules from receipt to delivery. Raft Strip. Engine Strip. Transmission Strip. Radiator Clean and Test. Fuel Pump Strip, Clean, Rebuild, and Test. Hydraulic Pump Strip, Clean, Rebuild, and Test. Precision Machine Shop. Component Clean and Validation. Paint. Final Test. Prepare and present regular reports on production performance and schedule adherence. Monitor labour availability and utilisation to ensure optimal productivity. Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies between planned and actual production and implement corrective actions. Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality Control, and Logistics to ensure smooth production processes. Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary to address delays or issues. Analyse production data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all production activities. Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to provide updates on production status. Manage finished stock inventory levels to ensure availability. This is not an exhaustive list. You may also be required to carry out any other duties as required by the business that you are qualified/trained in that meet the scope, spirit, and purpose of this role. Person Specification Proven experience in production planning, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of production processes and supply chain management. Knowledge of Lean Management principles. Qualifications/Education Required: Advanced user of MS Excel, MS Project, and MS Access. Experience with ERP systems. Proficiency in production planning software and tools. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
