Our client is seeking a Production Planner to orchestrate the core production processes of our state-of-the-art food manufacturing site. As a pivotal part of their operations team, this role aims to streamline their production workflows to match the high expectations of our marketplace, while maintaining rigorous quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain comprehensive production schedules for dual manufacturing sites, ensuring efficient workflow and resource allocation. Conduct thorough data analysis to identify trends and optimise production planning, aiming to meet primary operational benchmarks. Uphold accurate records, including staff databases and timesheet verifications, to manage our valued team effectively. Oversee inventory levels to ensure a steady supply of materials, collaborating closely with the operations team to synchronise production needs with material availability. Facilitate smooth new product introductions, scaling production in line with strategic market expansions. Coordinate and lead the weekly plant shutdowns for maintenance, ensuring minimal disruption to overall production timelines. Assume responsibility for the production manager's role in their absence, demonstrating versatile leadership and decision-making skills. Team Responsibilities: Play a vital role in multi-site production planning, enhancing the collective output and efficacy of operational teams. Aid in achieving consistent production results that adhere to quality, safety (HACCP), and production goals. Engage in monthly group production control meetings, contributing valuable insights and strategies. Participate in and drive lean manufacturing initiatives, including standardized meetings, process optimisation activities, and continuous improvement projects. Conduct time and motion studies to validate and refine production data, ensuring the authenticity and reliability of manufacturing plans. Provide basic training and briefings to staff, upholding a well-informed and skilled workforce. Skills and Qualifications: Proven ability to initiate and manage tasks independently. Exceptional organizational and administrative capabilities. Advanced interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative work environment. Articulate communicator, proficient in both written and verbal forms. Strong team orientation, with a history of proactive participation. Proficiency in advanced Excel and Access, supporting robust data analysis. Keen analytical acumen to deduce actionable insights from complex datasets. Flexibility in working hours, accommodating varied production schedules. Sharp commercial awareness, understanding the broader business implications of production decisions.
