Description
The Production Planner is responsible for the planning, maintenance, and release of shop floor documentation such as routings, BOMs, drawings and quality documents. Also, ensuring production adherence to weekly work to lists whilst assisting the planning function and maintaining a smooth and efficient flow of all operations within the Heartlands facility. Key Responsibilities: Process SOC’s and Production Requests from internal departments and Sales/Internal sales, create routings and raise work orders to manufacture required items and sub-items. Ensure all planned work is scheduling successfully through the Factory Planning scheduling system, liaise with Inventory Controller, Stores and Materials department to issue and deliver materials to production in a timely manner. Review production schedules and prioritise production process to meet delivery deadlines. Coordinate with production supervisors to resolve production and delivery issues. Ensure materials are available for production by coordinating with purchasing and inventory control. Communicate production progress and delivery information to stakeholders. Monitor production performance and provide regular status updates. Collaborate with other departments to resolve production and delivery issues. Monitor shop floor processes and collaborate with departments for adherence to procedure and highlight any opportunities for improvement – material issues, pick-listing & WO Completions. Control of shop floor documentation. Overseeing and develop both push and pull methods to achieve efficient and effective production processes. Monitor and maintain WIP ensuring efficient system processing for raw materials/forgings Provide a collaborative linkage with materials related functions ensuring that the flow of materials and supplies is optimised to where they are required and processed being classified in accordance with company processes and procedures. Any other duties as deemed necessary. Qualifications/Experience : Experience of working in a manufacturing business – in similar or relevant role (Production or Planning) Ability to understand production schedules within a manufacturing business. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be a team player and have sound judgement. Must have strong attention to detail with proven capabilities in handling multiple priorities. Competent in using ERP System (Glovia) and Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word. HNC/HND in relevant discipline, experience of full material line planning responsibilities in a manufacturing environment.
