Supporting the Production Manager with driving the team to meet monthly targets and monitoring production output. Resolving day-to-day issues and establishing guidelines and processes to prevent any future issues. Completion of Purchase Orders for items being sent to the paint shop and platers. Ordering materials from the Purchasing Team where required and placing orders. Reporting factory performance results to both the team members and the Production Manager. Maintain quality service and manufacturing high-quality products by establishing and enforcing the organisation's standards. Ensure the areas are organised using 5S and all equipment is serviced to ensure equipment availability and performance. Enforce process adherence and a structured approach to continuous improvement. Lead team briefs and toolbox talks on a daily basis and attend Contract Review Meetings in the absence of the Production Manager. Always displaying a positive attitude and providing hands-on support on builds to complete deadlines. Working closely with other areas of the business to ensure both sides have the required parts to maintain a steady workflow for each team. Monitoring employee absence, completing Return to Work interviews and completing investigations where necessary. Work with the Production Manager to ensure effective introduction of new products. Liaise with management relating to any quality issues relating to customer requirements (NCR) & supplier performance (ISO9001). Key to this role is the ability to work with a diverse workforce and enhance the skills of the existing team, whether it be hands-on assembly, welding, working to drawings, or general day-to-day activities and personnel requirements. You will also be required to work closely with and train junior members of staff in the day-to-day requirements of the role, health and safety, and support any further educational requirements they may have. Minimum Requirements
Able to be hands-on and motivate others. Managing production tasks and meeting deadlines. Organisation and efficiency, work ethic, and time management skills are essential. Electrical or mechanical engineering. Reading CAD or technical drawings. Experience of working in a production environment. Ideally, A level qualification/HNC/equivalent or alternatively previous experience in this role.
